HBO has unveiled the list of films and TV shows that will be newly available to the streaming serviceHBO NOWin April, as well as those that will be departing. For those unaware, HBO NOW is the standalone streaming service for HBO, with which you can not only watch past and current seasons of HBO original programming, but also a number of library titles.
In the “new release” aisle this month,Spike Lee’s Oscar-winningBlacKkKlansmandebuts on April 20th, while the smash hit romantic comedyCrazy Rich Asiansarrives on April 13th, the horror filmThe Nundebuts April 6th, and the YA sci-fi adaptationThe Darkest Mindshits on April 27th.

If it’s older films you’re in the mood for, April 1st sees the arrival ofA Time to Kill,October Sky,Mean Girls, andRidley Scott’s brilliant director’s cut of his 2005 Crusades epicKingdom of Heaven. On the HBO Originals side of things, April 6th brings the debut of the feature filmNative Son, April 5th is when Season 2 ofWyatt Cenac’s Problem Areasarrives, and oh yeah,the final season ofGame of Thronesstarts on April 14th.
As for what’s leaving HBO NOW, the terrific superhero movieWonder Womanflies away on April 27th, while April 30th is closing time for the extended cut ofAnchorman, the extended cut ofDances with Wolves, the catchy musicalThe Greatest Showman,Paul Thomas Anderson’s lush romantic dramaPhantom Thread,Terrence Malick’s masterfulThe Thin Red Line, and the beginning and end of the Dark Universe with theTom Cruise-frontedThe Mummy.
