Disney and Lucasfilm have released the first trailer forThe Mandalorian, the live-actionStar WarsTV show created byJon Favreaufor Disney+. The series starsGame of ThronesalumPedro Pascalas a “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy” after the fall of the Empire inReturn of the Jediand before the rise of the First Order inThe Force Awakens.
The Mandalorianalso starsNick Nolte,Werner Herzog,Gina Carano,Carl Weathers, andGiancarlo Esposito. Favreau penned the series, while high-profile names likeTaika Waititi,Bryce Dallas Howard,Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, andDeborah Chowwill direct.

Well, my friends, that trailer positively slaps. I love it when a trailer manages to translate tone and scope without giving everything away, and this nearly dialogue-free number absolutely does the trick. Heck, if you’re going to only have one line of dialogue, you’re damn right you’re going to give it to Werner “I literally ate a shoe and got shot on camera” Herzog. Now that’s how you sell a show. And if you want to match a great ending with a great beginning, a shot of Storm Trooper helmets on pikes really sets A Mood.
