The Tasmanian Devil is one of the most iconic characters inLooney Tunes, first premiering nearly 70 years ago. Now, he is ready to make another jump to a feature-length film, with Warner Bros. Entertainment releasing the first trailer for the upcoming animated projectTaz: Quest for Burger.

The trailer shows off the feisty Tasmanian Devil, or ‘Taz,’ voiced bySteve Blum(Star Wars Rebels,Cowboy Bebop).The trailer shows a bandicoot named Quinn enlist Taz’s help after her father gets abducted by outlaws. Though Taz is initially reluctant to assist Quinn, he seems to be tempted by the significant offer of burgers that awaits him after the mission is complete. The film also features the voices ofHadley Gannawayas Quinn,Eric Bauzaas Sid,Ian James Corbettas the father,Ely Henryas Aristotle,Kevin Michael Richardsonas Butch/Emo,Jon Luke Thomasas Ned/Sam,James Urbaniakas Rocky andKari Wahlgrenas Melanie/Koala.

The Tasmanian Devil Has a Long History in Entertainment

First appearing in a 1954Looney Tunesshort, the Tasmanian Devil has endeared himself to children and adults alike, and has become one of the most famous cartoon characters to ever grace the television screen. Known for speaking in often garbled jibberish and spinning around uncontrollably, Taz was first voiced by the illustriousMel Blanc,who was the original voice foriconicLooney Tunescharacterslike Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote, and many more.

This will not be the first time that Taz has been seen in a feature film, though. He notably appeared in the cult 1990s classicSpace Jam,playing as part of the TuneSquad basketball team alongsideMichael Jordan.He would also be seen in the sequel,Space Jam: A New Legacy,starringLebron James,and wasvoiced byBrendan Fraserin 2003’s live-action filmLooney Tunes: Back in Action.

Warner Bros. is set to bringLooney Tunesback to theatres this year with the live-action filmCoyote vs. Acme.The filmstarsWill ForteandJohn Cena,but it is unclear if Taz will make an appearance.Taz: Quest for Burgerwill be available to purchase digitally on June 16, 2025, on platforms such as Prime Video, Apple TV, and more. After an outlaw abducts her father and steals her town’s food supply, a feisty adolescent bandicoot named Quinn recruits the Tasmanian Devil to help her find the thief. Taz may be an ill-tempered rogue with a fearsome reputation, but he and Quinn will have to work together to track the criminal through the wilds of Tasmania and save her community.
