MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios have officially announced that Oscar nomineeMichelle Pfeifferwill both executive produce and star inThe Madison, a new original series fromAcademy AwardnomineeTaylor Sheridan. This highly anticipated series, previously referred to as2024, marks the next installment in the expansiveYellowstoneuniverse. The Madisonlooks set to be a heartfelt study of grief and human connection, following a New York City family as they navigate life in the Madison River Valley of central Montana, set against the backdrop of the stunning Montana landscape, providing a new layer to theYellowstonesaga.
Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, praised Pfeiffer’s involvement, stating, “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace. She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of theYellowstoneuniverse, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

Pfeiffer, a three-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner, has a storied career spanning over three decades. She recently portrayed Betty Ford in the SHOWTIME anthology seriesThe First Ladyand is set to appear in Amazon’sOh. What. Fun!Her extensive filmography includes iconic roles inScarface,French Exit,Maleficent 2,The Wizard of Lies,Mother!,Dark Shadows, andBatman Returns.
Who Else Will Appear in ‘The Madison’?
Reports indicate thatKurt RussellandPatrick J. Adamsare in negotiations to join the series. The story is rumored to follow Stacy Clyburn, a wealthy matriarch, and her family as they move from New York City to Montana following the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash. This move sets the stage for a dramatic and emotional journey as the family adjusts to their new life.TheMadisonis set up as a sequel and will be connected to the mainline Yellowstone series. It will reportedly align with the events of the final episodes of the current Yellowstone series.Original series starsKelly Reilly(Beth),Cole Hauser(Rip), andLuke Grimes(Kaycee) are also expected to appear, provided their contract negotiations go according to plan.
