We’re at the height of the summer wedding season, which is perhaps why theTable 19trailer is so relatable. It’s a preview for a film about the guests sitting at the reject table, the place where the bride and groom dumped those guests they either don’t care for or had no other place to put. What makes this particular group of characters so endearing is they’re made up ofAnna Kendrick,June Squibb,Craig Robinson,Lisa Kudrow, and more.

Pop Sugar debuted theTable 19trailer, which may be the first hint that this won’t be a groan-inducing wedding rom-com. It does have some cliches — finding a new love after getting dumped, somehow ruining the wedding cake, and awkward wedding speeches (this one involvesRomeo & Juliet) — but for the most part there are the seeds of chemistry between this disparate souls.

As you can glean from the footage, Kendrick plays Eloise, the ex-maid of honor of this particular ceremony who was jilted by her boyfriend’s text message break-up. She now finds herself at dumped at the reject table. Robinson puts it perfectly, “I can smell the toilets from here. That’s how well we know the bride and groom.” Thankfully, Squibb and her eccentric hat are there to inject some meaning into this life moment.

Directed byJeffrey Blitz, who helmed episodes ofParks and RecreationandThe Office,Table 19also featuresStephen Merchant(Hello Ladies),Amanda Crew(Silicon Valley),Tony Revolori(The Grand Budapest Hotel), andWyatt Russell(22 Jump Street). Table 19is scheduled to hit theaters on June 20, 2025. Here’s the plot synopsis:

Ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick) - having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text - decides to hold her head up high and attend her oldest friend’s wedding anyway. She finds herself seated at the ‘random’ table in the back of the ballroom with a disparate group of strangers, most of whom should have known to just send regrets (but not before sending something nice off the registry). As everyone’s secrets are revealed, Eloise learns a thing or two from the denizens of Table 19. Friendships - and even a little romance - can happen under the most unlikely circumstances.
