If you’re a fan ofRick and Mortyand need to occupy yourself until the hit series fourth season arrives on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, you might want to go ahead and revisit the 31 episodes already in existence. Now one way to do that is to just catch reruns on Adult Swim and its streaming services, or you can dig into your previously purchased DVDs or Blu-rays for Seasons 1, 2, and/or 3. That latter option will give you access to not just the episodes themselves, but special features like commentary tracks from the cast and crew (and incredibly random guest commentators), animatics and deleted scenes, and completely off-the-wall bonuses you won’t find anywhere else. The best option however, in my humble opinion, is to pick up all existing episodes in one place with theRick and Morty: The Complete Seasons 1-3DVD or Blu-ray set.
If you’ve already got a season or two on your shelves, you might just want to go out and complete the set with a purchase of the standalone seasons you don’t already have. The reason I suggest that is that this box set, which technically contains the whole series so far, repeats the special features found on the individual season home releases. However, it’s super convenient having all 31 episodes and a boatload of special features all in one place, making this new collection a worthwhile one. And there’s plenty here to make the cost worth your while.

If you just want to watch all 31 episodes ofDan HarmonandJustin Roiland’s insanely popular animated series about a mad scientist and his beleaguered grandson, you can easily do so with this set. And you’ll appreciate the fact that each episode can be watched again and again, because multiple commentary tracks allow you to do just that and gain new insight into some of your favorite episodes and sequences. Sure, some of the special features are just Harmon, Roiland, and other crew members rapping while drunk or veering off onto obsessive tangents or down depressive spirals, but you can kind of say the same thing aboutRick and Mortyitself. But if you don’t have the patience to sit through all of that crazy content and just want to read through some highlights, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you.
