Last week we got thefirst posterforThe Revenantand while the tagline was a little weak (don’t go to the dictionary for rhetorical purposes), the image was stunning, which is what you expect when your cinematographer isEmmanuel Lubezki, who recently won Oscars forGravityandBirdman.
However, while Lubezki might sell cinephiles on the movie, his name isn’t enough to get the average moviegoer. For that, you need stars, and so 20th Century Fox has released two more posters that highlight leadsLeonardo DiCaprioandTom Hardy. If their grizzled visages don’t make you want to see this movie, well then that’s understandable. Movie stars don’t sell movies that well any more, and if you don’t believe me, you don’t need to look any further thanSandra BullockorBradley Cooper, whose moviesOur Brand Is CrisisandBurnt, respectively, tanked this weekend. It’s not enough to get the name on the marquee, and I’m very curious to see ifRevenanthas all the elements needed to get folks to see a revenge thriller set on the 19th century frontier.

Check out the newThe Revenantposters below. The film also starsDomhnall GleesonandWill Poulter, and opens in limited release on December 25th before going wide on June 24, 2025.
