One of the many films to world premiere footage at this year’s Cinemacon was directorPaul Feig’sLast Christmas. Working from a script byEmma ThompsonandBryonny Kimmings, Feig reunites with hisA Simple Favorco-starHenry GoldingandGame of Thrones’Emilia Clarkein what he’s calling a “dramatic romantic comedy.” The film is about a young woman (Clarke) who works as an elf in a year-round London Christmas shop, where she meets a handsome young man and starts to fall for him (played by Golding, obviously). However, it’s possible there is more going on beneath the scenes…
While at the Awards show on the closing night of the convention, I got some time with Feig. He went into more detail about what the film is about, how the film will use a number ofGeorge Michaelsongs (including one or two unreleased tunes), how the film is a love letter to London, why he loves to test screen his movies early in the editing process, and a lot more. In addition, he talked about producing the Netflix movieSomeone Great, what it’s about, and why he’s come full circle having his first-look deal at Universal.

Check out what he had to say in the player above and below is exactly what we talked about.
Paul Feig:
Here’s the officialLast Christmassynopsis:
Kate (Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart … and you gotta have faith.
