Though there’s a certain fascination toWarCraft,Duncan Jones' adaptation of the beloved Blizzard title, it did not, under any circumstances, turn the tide on video game adaptations. Now, all eyes are onJustin Kurzel’s adaptation ofAssassin’s Creed, another popular title, to break the curse once and for all. Considering Kurzel did such good work withThe Snowtown Murders, and worked so well withAssassin’s CreedstarMichael Fassbenderin last year’s Macbeth, there’s plenty of good faith that this one will at least come out better thanWarCraft, but we won’t know until December 21st arrives and the film hits theaters nationwide....

On May 8th, film fans said goodbye to actorFred Ward, who passed away at the age of 79. A veteran of the small and big screen for fifty years, Ward was a dependable, yet often underrated actor. His gritty look and gruff voice made him appear like a cowboy straight out of a Sergio Leone western (he was actually part Cherokee), and even though he first did appear in a few small Italian films early in his career, it was his roles stateside that we will remember forever....

Disney+’s takeover of what was once part of Netflix’s Marvel slate withDaredevil: Born Againhas been a bumpy ride for all those connected — fans included. But it has now been confirmed that the series — which faced a multitude of setbacks — is on track for arelease in March 2025. It made a decent amount of money ($229 million worldwide), but not enough to warrant a sequel, especially when you look at how much it cost. That being said, it’s still a good movie, and it’s a shame that the economics didn’t work out so that a follow-up could break free of celebrating the original and finally tell its own story....

Hallelujah! The gorgeous ladies of wrestling, a.k.a.GLOW, will be returning for a second season, as announced by Netflix today. Though it took me a few episodes to really get intoGLOW, it was worth the wait – the show really found its rhythm once the women came together and developed their in-ring personas. The way the show also played its redemption narrative through hero and heel archetypes was pretty perfectly executed, and left plenty of room for more stories from this fantastic cast to explore in a new season....
