Audiences have returned to Bonnie Scotland with a couple of new love stories asOutlander: Blood of My Bloodhas premiered on Starz with two episodes dropping. The series is a prequel to the long-running romance drama,Outlander, which starsCaitríona BalfeandSam Heughanin the lead roles of Claire and Jamie respectively. The new series chronicles events that happened in the lives of Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), parents of Heughan’s Jamie Fraser andHermione Corfield’s Julia Moriston andJeremy Irvine’s Henry Beauchamp, Claire’s parents. Some characters from the original series are poised to be part of the new series’ story, and there have been conversations surrounding Claire making an appearance as well.
Just like the original series, the prequel will have elements of time travelin it, which can offer the new show the opportunity to bring back some OGs. ShowrunnerMatthew B. Robertsand executive producerMaril Daviswere asked about Claire and her uncle making an appearance in a recent interview withScreen Rant. Despite only offering vague answers in response, the pair hinted at the prospect of Claire popping up inthe prequel show. They also stated that they are fully aware of whatClaire and her uncleare both currently up to during the new show’s events. “Yes, we do,” Roberts responds to whether he knows what Claire and her uncle are doing. “I know exactly where they are and what they’re doing.” To this, Davis adds with a chucke, “Claire’s playing tiddlywinks.” Roberts then goes on to add, “Yeah, she’s doing something creative, I’ll tell you that. Yeah, we know exactly, and never say never.”

‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ Could Make Claire’s Story Quite Tragic
Outlander: Blood of My Bloodalready promises to change parts ofthe story we thought we knewwhen the story gets into full gear. That potentially might affect Claire more than we know. While the original series revealed Claire’s backstory as being an orphan without parents, both of whom died in a car accident while she was little. The prequel series might make Claire’s story in the original quite a tragic one, as Corfield suggestsin a previous interview:
“The reveal being in the time period that she — I mean, it’s earlier, obviously — the fact that they were there, I think, makes the whole thing more tragic. Because she always thought she was an orphan, when in actual fact, her parents were alive and probably closer than she thought.”

Outlander: Blood of My Bloodfeaturesan entirely new theme songas well as an entirely new set of characters which includes the names as mentioned earlier. Other additions include Red Jacob (Peter Mullan), laird of the MacKenzies, his sons, Colum (Séamus McLean Ross) and Dougal (Sam Retford), Lord Lovat Fraser (Tony Curran), among others.
