Surprise! Marvel Studios has released a brand newAvengers: Endgametrailer. The upcoming film follows the events ofAvengers: Infinity Warwhere Thanos (Josh Brolin) was victorious in his quest to obtain all the Infinity Stones and wipe out half the life in the universe with a snap of his Infinity Gauntlet. The result saw the dusting off many beloved heroes with original Avengers like Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and a few others left to pick up the pieces.
Avengers: Endgamewas shot back-to-back withAvengers: Infinity Warand was similarly written byChristopher MarkusandStephen McFeely, and directed byJoeandAnthony Russo.

This is a really spectacular trailer that draws upon the idea that this film is genuinely the culmination of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that have come before. I love that it evokes the past with footage from previous movies, namely those involving the original Avengers lineup. That’s really what we were left with when all the dust settled fromInfinity War(zing!), and that was perfectly deliberate. We’re going to see the original Avengers team forced to reassemble one last time to save their friends.
There are plenty details of note in this trailer, namely the arrival ofBrie Larson’s Captain Marvel, and I cannot wait to see her interplay with Thor. Those Avengers uniforms at the end are pretty tremendous as well, and we’ve got confirmation here thatPaul Rudd’s Ant-Man will, somehow, reteam with the group after being stuck in the Quantum Realm at the end ofAnt-Man and the Wasp.

Here’s the official synopsis forAvengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
