Hey Collider crew! Recently I watched theMan Downtrailer and the Variety quote they used made me curious as to how it was tracking on Rotten Tomatoes. It turns out the quote they used was from a negative review. This got me thinking, are there any regulations governing the use of quotes in trailers? Can they trim “this is not a masterpiece” down to “a masterpiece”? Or when there is no source for the quote is that just the director’s mother? Thanks for my daily procrastination - I mean motivation!
