The CW’s mini-Justice League is getting an actual Justice League in Season 2.Nick Zano, who portrayed the character Arthur onMinority Reportbefore Fox canceled it, is joiningLegends of Tomorrowas a new character in a series regular capacity.

According toDeadline, Zano will play DC Comics character Dr. Nate Heywood, the grandson of Hank Heywood. Hank developed a special bio-retardant formula during World War II, but when he was left on the brink of death following an injury, he offered up his body to his scientific partner in order to test the product. The results transformed him into Commander Steel, whose failed limbs and organs were replaced with steel.

Hank’s grandson took up the Steel mantle as a member of the Justice League, and his cousin Nate soon followed in The New 52. After losing his leg due to a severe football injury, an attack led to his flesh transforming into organic steel and replacing his limb with a shiny, new, metallic one. With his new abilities, he became Citizen Steel. It’s unconfirmed whether or not Nate will become his superhuman counterpart. But, considering the show, why wouldn’t he?

The addition of Zano isn’t the only change-up coming to the show. It was reported earlier thatCiara Renee’s Hawkgirl will no longer be a series regular onLegends of Tomorrow. Series co-creatorMarc Guggenheimfurther teased toDeadlinelast month:

The composition of the team isgoing to change; there will be some new faces on the Waverider. The season finale planted some very significant flags in terms of what the new concept of the show will be in season 2. The team’s mission statement for season 2 is more compelling than season 1, and at the same time, it is more streamlined. It’s a little bit higher concept, a very clean notion that will allow the show to do things that it does best.

The first season featured a story arc around famed DC villain Vandal Savage. While we won’t spoil what happened by the finale, the team will face a new challenge in the new season.
