The final trailer for BBC America’s excellent seriesKilling Eveshows off some of the humor that makes the show so great. I mean truly, the only thing that could throw Villanelle (Jodie Comer) off – besides being stabbed by Eve, of course (Sandra Oh) – is this sartorial goddess having to step into a pair of old, bedazzled Crocs. But she will, it seems, do crazy things for love, which this trailer plays with quite a bit. We also see Eve’s gleeful expression after being tasked with being the only one who can find Villanalle. Of course she is!
This new run of episodes looks just as funny, weird, intense, and sleekly thrilling in the hands of the series’ new writer,Emerald Fennell, as they were with series creatorPhoebe Waller-Bridge. As I wrote in the post for thefirst Season 2 trailer, “During theKilling Evepanel at this year’s Television Critics Association press conference, the cast and Fennell gave us a few hints about the new season (which we were able to see the first two episode of), as well as explaining the ongoing dynamic between Eve and Villanelle. We’ll have more of that for you as the premiere draws closer, but suffice to say that if you loved Season 1, so far, Season 2 seems like it will be more of the same greatness (thanks also to its absolutely stellar cast). One thing I did not get clarification on was if I should be afraid for the precious Niko, though — when I asked a question about him, Sandra Oh only smiled …”
