When Steve visited the set ofJustice Leagueback in June,we got confirmationfrom producerDeborah Snyderthat Steppenwolf would be the main villain in the film. However, it looks like he won’t be the only antagonist in the movie. Today,Ben Afflecktweeted out the following:
That looksa lotlike Deathstroke. For those who are unfamiliar with the character, his real name is Slade Wilson, and he first appeared inThe New Teen Titansin 1980. He’s been a villain that’s been all over the DC Universe and he’s gone toe-to-toe with Batman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Flash, Green Lantern, and more. He’s been on the supervillain teams Injustice League, Suicide Squad, Secret Society of Super Villains, H.I.V.E., Checkmate, Team 7, and the League of Assassins. And yet for all of his affiliations and grudges, he doesn’t have any superpowers, or at least no more superpowers than someone like Batman. He’s really smart and he’s a good fighter.

So what is he doing inJustice League? If I had to guess, it’s a cameo role and probably someone Batman will be facing early in the film. Deathstroke isn’t a villain who demands the attention of an entire team of superheroes. But if there’s a scene early on where Batman is taking out Deathstroke, that would make sense, and it would also insert Deathstroke into the DCEU for later use (Suicide Squad 2perhaps?).
Update:The Wrapis now reporting that Deathstroke will be the main villain in Ben Affleck’s standalone Batman movie.

What do you think Deathstroke is doing inJustice League? Do you hope he has a big role, or are you fine with a cameo? Do you want to see him in future DCEU movies? And who do you think is behind the mask? Sound off in the comments section.
