At the beginning of May, it was announced that thetheatrical releaseof the compilation movieJujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Deathwas finally set to spread its wings beyond Japan, asGKIDSannounced that it had just secured exhibition rights for the film with a US theatrical debut coming on June 03, 2025. After recently releasing in Japanese theaters, earning the equivalent of $1.3 million in its opening weekend, the movie has now landed another major update.
Exclusively revealed by Variety, streamerCrunchyrolland Sony Pictures Entertainment have now teamed up to save the day and offerJujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Deatha screen home. Detailing the younger years of Satoru Gojo (Yūichi Nakamura,voiced byKaiji Tangin theEnglish dub) and Suguru Geto (Takahiro Sakurai/Lex Lang) during the student and sorcerer period in their lives as they transition from friends to enemies, this re-edited version of thebeloved “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” arcfeatures freshly remixed sound and will act as a refresher following the end of Season 2 in 2023.

Sadly, the wait for Season 3 ofJujutsu Kaisenis confirmed to be a long one, with the release ofJujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Deathmerely covering the cracks in the fandom’s viewing habits. MAPPA, the animation studiobehind the hit series, has yet to confirm any release plans for the third season, with the continued wait for an announcement leaving many wondering if new episodes will debut any sooner than early 2026 at best.
Another ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Movie Was a Huge Hit
Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Deathisn’t the only big-screen project in theJujutsu Kaisenuniverse, with the 2022 movie setting a high bar for the latest release to match.Boasting a near-perfect 98% rating from both critics and audiences on review aggregatorRotten Tomatoes, 9% higher than the comparative score for the full series,Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Moviewasn’t just a critical hit, it also made plenty of money at the box office. In total, the movie made$174.1 million worldwide, split between a domestic total of $33.9 million and $140.2 million at the international box office. Additionally, the film made just shy of $2 million from domestic Blu-ray sales, helping it become the second-highest-grossing FUNimation movie in domestic box office history.
