On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes,The Dryboasts a critics' and audience rating higher thanUntamed.From critics, the Aussie mystery thriller has an impressive, “certified fresh” 90%, with audiences agreeing with an 89% rating.The Dryreceived a quieter reaction than it deserved upon arrival, although many critics still gushed over its best qualities. One review praised Bana’s lead performance, saying, “In its own quiet way, it’s avery effective and emotional performance,” with another simply praising the film as “a gripping, tough, and psychologically intense adaptation,” before later adding, “The film remains rock solid throughout: taut, tough and tense, matching wide-open spaces with uncomfortably close drama.”
