While we still have a bit of a wait until the second season of Marvel’sDaredevilis released on Netflix (“sometime in 2016”, to be more specific), the new episodes are about to be teased in a big way at New York Comic-Con. In anticipation of the film’s NYCC panel, Marvel’s Chief Creative OfficerJoe Quesadahas revealed a concept art poster forDaredevilSeason 2 that will be made available at the convention this weekend. It’s a nice bit of appeasement to fans who are clamoring for more episodes, and it’s a solid look at the Daredevil costume—in drawing form, at least—that we only briefly glimpsed in the actual series.
Changes are afoot for the new season ofDaredevil, as showrunnerSteven S. DeKnightleft the series due to scheduling issues and has been replaced byDoug PetrieandMarco Ramirez, who were writers during the show’s first season. CreatorDrew Goddardrecently told usthat he’s still involved in the show in an advisory role, maintaining his executive producer credit, and he promises fans will be happy with the direction of the new season.

What is that direction, exactly? We have no idea. The big addition this year isJon Bernthalas Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. It’s unclear whether he’ll be the “Big Bad” this year or not, but he’s onboard in a series regular role. We also have the introduction ofÉlodie Yungas Elektra to look forward to.
Daredevilis undoubtedly Marvel’s biggest success on the small screen thus far, and I’ll be curious to see how the series progresses. I wasn’t able to get fully onboard with the show’s first season, but plenty of folks sparked to this longform storytelling approach to the Marvel Comics character, and I imagine interest will be mighty high when the show returns.
