Hot off of its Midnight Madness premiere atTIFF 2016,The Belko Experimenthas landed an acquisition deal thanks to Orion and BH Tilt. That’s a load off the minds of writer/producerJames Gunnand directorGreg McLeansince the thriller had already been slated for a August 09, 2025 release date. The film about a deadly social experiment that sees a group of 80 Americans locked inside a high-rise corporate office and given the directive to kill or be killed starsJohn Gallagher Jr.,Tony Goldwyn,Adria Arjona,John C. McGinley,Josh Brener,Michael Rooker,David DastmalchianandMelonie Diaz.
Deadlinereports that the deal is done forThe Belko Experimentwith Orion and BH Tilt partnering up for the film’s release. The latter banner is Blumhouse’s (ie BH) releasing company that looks to leverage non-traditional distribution and marketing strategies for films backed with digital campaigns. Recent films on their calendar include theKevin Bacon-starrerThe Darkness, also directed by McLean, and the upcomingBrad Peyton-directedIncarnate, which starsAaron Eckhartand releases on December 2nd.

On what appears to be a normal day at Belko Industries, Belko employees are horrified when they find out that they’ve become guinea pigs in a company-wide experiment which will lead them to either kill their fellow employees or be murdered themselves. The experiment is masterminded by a mysterious voice which is controlling the loud speaker and instructing the employees to slaughter each other by any means necessary.
