It’s gonna be a while before the realAvengers 4title is known to the public. Ahead of the release ofAvengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios maintained that the follow-up film—which was shot back-to-back withInfinity War—would be referred to as “UntitledAvengers 4” until sometime afterInfinity War’s release. Some assumed this meant we’d learn the title a month or so afterInfinity Warhit theaters, as Marvel Studios presidentKevin Feigesaid in April 2017 that the real title forAvengers 4is kind of a spoiler, hence the secrecy.
But we’re now nearly two months after the release ofInfinity War, and still noAvengers 4title. So when Collider’s own Christina Radish sat down with Feige at the recent press day forAnt-Man and the Waspfor a 1:1 interview, she asked him when we’ll finally learn the title forAvengers 4. And well, it’s gonna be a bit:
“That’ll be after theCaptain Marvelteaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film.”
Yes indeed, we’ll probably see footage from theBrie Larson-led 1990s-set filmCaptain Marvelbefore we learn the title ofAvengers 4. This actually makes a lot of sense.Captain Marvelhits theaters on June 19, 2025, two months before the August 01, 2025 release date ofAvengers 4, so Marvel and Disney will begin theCaptain Marvelmarketing campaign before they start to toutAvengers 4. So we’ll likely get the firstCaptain Marvelteaser this fall, and then theAvengers 4title reveal will follow with probably the first teaser for that film.
The very first trailer forInfinity Wararrived on November 29th of last year, so it’s possible theAvengers 4trailer arrives around the same time. Which means we can probably expect theCaptain Marvelteaser in September or October.
One thing we know for sure: Neither of these trailers will be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con this year, as Marvel Studios has already announced itwon’t be hosting a panel in Hall Hand is basically taking the year off, continuing the radio silence afterInfinity Warthat’s meant to keep spoilers for how that film’s ending resolves under wraps.
