What Is “Frieren: Beyond Joruney’s End” About?

Based on the ongoing manga series byKanehito Yamada,Frieren: Beyond Journey’s Endtakes place after Himmel (Nobuhiko Okamoto/Clifford Chapin) and his party defeated the Demon King, thus bringing a new era of peace. Frieren (Atsumi Tanezaki/Mallorie Rodak), an elf mage and one of Himmel’s party members, decides to embark on her adventure, but promises to reunite with her friends in 50 years. Following a wholesome reunion with her former party, who have aged significantly since her departure, Himmel dies peacefully from old age, and Frieren begins to regret not knowing him any better. So she embarks on a journey to go to Aureole, in hopes of speaking with her departed friend once more. Joining her are Fern (Kana Ichinose/Jill Harris) and Stark (Chiaki Kobayashi/Jordan Dash Cruz), a mage and a warrior who were previously trained and raised by two of Frieren’s other party members, Heiter (Hiroki Tochi/Jason Douglas) and Eisen (Yoji Ueda/Christopher Guerrero). Season 1 ended withFern earning her First Class Mage Certification, allowing the party to travel into the Northern Plateau, thussetting the stage for new challenges to come once Season 2 airs.
