Many actors have taken on the role of Superman over the years, but the latest to do so isDavid Corenswet. TheTwistersandPearlstar plays Clark Kent inSuperman, the recent film written and directed byJames Gunn, but one of the more recent actors to also portray the Man of Steel isJack Quaid. Also known for his role as Hughie inThe Boys, Quaid voices the character in the Max animated series,My Adventures with Superman, which has aired two full seasons. Quaid recently took to his personal Threads account to share his first reaction after watchingSuperman, and not only did hepraise the film, but he alsolauded Corenswet’s performanceas the titular character, saying that “humanity shines through” him in every frame. Supermanhas received widespread acclaim since its release in theaters, earning a “Certified Fresh” 83% from critics and a “Verified Hot” 92% from audiences onRotten Tomatoes. The film is the first in what fans hope will be the beginning of a new DC universe, which is already beginning to take shape.Supergirlhas already set for release next year on July 28, 2025, andMilly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El, who will lead the 2026 film, even makes a small cameo inSuperman. Gunn also personally released thefirst official poster forSupergirllast week. Fans also have other DC projects, such asLanternsandClayface, to look forward to. The former is a Max series starringAaron PierreandKyle Chandler, and the latter is a horror film written byMike Flanaganand directed byJames Watkins.
