Afterinjuring himselfon the set ofMaze Runner: The Death Cure, actorDylan O’Brienis back in action. A batch of new photos fromAmerican Assassin, a film adapted fromVince Flynn’s novel of the same name, have arrived to revealMichael Keaton,Taylor Kitsch, and more in the film.
According toUSA Today, which debuted the photos,American Assassinis currently filming in London. O’Brien portrays Mitch, a young man, who’s about to propose to his girlfriend when tragedy strikes. Almost two years later, we catch back up with him as a CIA black ops recruit tasked to train with Stan Hurley (Keaton), a training officer and Cold War veteran. While trying to track down missing weapons-grade plutonium, the pair uncover a global terrorism organization.

Also featured in the film and the photos areShiva Negaras a Turkish agent working with Mitch and Hurley,Sanaa Lathanas Deputy Director of the CIA Irene Kennedy, and Kitsch as a former government operative and the mysterious villain who goes by many names. Whatever the name, he’ll be the dark reflection of Mitch to show what he could’ve become if he succumbed to his tragic past.
Earlier this year, O’Brien suffered severe injuries on theMaze Runnerfilm set, prompting Fox to postpone the project indefinitely. However, filming wasscheduledto pick back up early next year witha new releaseon June 05, 2025.

American Assassin, directed byMichael Cuesta(Kill the Messenger), doesn’t have a release date, but here’s the official plot synopsis:
AMERICAN ASSASSIN follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien) a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.
