It’s going to be a major summer forDC Comicswith the debut ofSuperman. TheJames Gunn-directed film starringDavid Corenswetas the Man of Steel flies into theaters in July. The marketing blitz is in full gear with merchandise showing off some of the heroes that will stand side-by-side with Superman in the adventure. This includes Guy Gardener’s Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific. However, there’s another famous DC hero that’ll be making a brief appearance in the film: Superman’s cousinSupergirl. Now, ahead of the DCU’s reign,the Girl of Steel is getting a new comic statuefromSideshow CollectiblesandIron Studios.
The 1:10 Art Scale Supergirl Series #8 statue stands at 9.7 inches tall and hasKara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, hanging out on a rooftop with Streaky the Supercat. The Woman of Tomorrow is seen in her traditional blue uniform with the “S” logo, complete with Kara’s signature red skirt. Streaky is flying next to her, practically looking like he’s floating on his own thanks to the support of Supergirl’s cape.The statue will be $205 USD, shipping between July and September 2025. In preparation for the character’s DCU reimagining, Supergirl has been receiving her fair share ofFunko Pops,action figures,andHot Toys.
Supergirl Is About To Take Off
WhileMilly Alcock(House of the Dragon) will first appear as Supergirl inSupermanon July 11th, the actress will be getting her own film withSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrownext summer. There arevery few story detailsabout the film yet, but it will be based on the 2021 comic book run of the same name by writerTom Kingand artistBilquis Evely. The spin-off will also see Aquaman’sJason Momoatake on a new DC role as the popularSuperman villain Lobo.
Cruella’sCraig Gillespiewill be directing the film from a screenplay byAna Nogueira. On top of that, Corenswet’s Superman is expected to make an appearance as well. There have also been leaked set photos of what Alcock’s supersuit will look like, but an official image has yet to be released.Woman of TomorrowandSupermanwill start a new shared universethat’ll includeClayface,The Brave and the Bold(Batman), andPeacemakerSeason 2.
When Does ‘Supergirl’ Release?
