Dwayne Johnsonis developing a reboot ofThe Scorpion Kingat Universal, Collider has learned. Johnson will produce the film via his Seven Bucks Productions banner along withDany GarciaandHiram Garcia, whileJonathan Herman(Straight Outta Compton) will write the script, which will be set in modern day. Universal’sJay PolidoroandTony Ducretwill oversee the project on behalf of the studio. The Scorpion Kingwas one of Johnson’s early movie roles, and though he has graduated to bigger and better projects since then, he still thinks there’s value in the IP, and is ready to pass the torch to the next generation....
